Florida
Key West, Key Largo, Everglades, Biscayne Bay
Day 1: After arriving in Miami, drive to Key Largo where you will stay for the night. For dessert, try some of the famous Key Lime Pie.
Day 2: In the morning, visit John Pennekamp Coral Reef State Park, where operators take visitors on inexpensive snorkel excursions to the protected coral reef. After the snorkel trip, drive to Everglades National Park and check into your room, where you will stay for the next two nights (Note: Book your rooms and any excursions far in advance especially during busy winter holiday periods).
Day 3: After breakfast, take a cruise or rent a boat for a tour of Florida bay, where you will see the amazing bird and marine life of this pristine national park. In the afternoon, take a back country cruise for more opportunities to see the resident wildlife.
Day 4: In the morning, drive to Biscayne National Park and take a guided snorkel tour from one of the operators (make sure to book in advance especially during busy winter holiday periods). Afterwards, drive to Miami for the night.
Day 5: On your final day, drive to and tour the Shark Valley area of Everglades National Park, where you will get uncomfortably close looks at the many American alligators that call this place their home. When you are finished, start your return journey home with some unforgettable memories and a better appreciation for the amazing wildlife of southern Florida.
