London
Day 1: After arriving and checking into your hotel, jump start your visit to this wonderfully historic city at the Victoria and Albert Museum—known for being the world’s largest museum displaying the decorative arts. Retire to your hotel where you’ll stay for the duration of your trip in London.
Day 2: Wake up to tour one of the most famous sites in all of England—the Tower of London. The tower has held many roles over the years, and today it is a great museum and home for the crown jewels. Make sure to get a spot on the highly entertaining tour with one of the Beefeater's. While there take a short walk over to get a closer look at the Tower Bridge. Afterwards, head over to the beautifully designed St. Paul’s Cathedral, perhaps the second most important and famous church in London. Day 3: Start your day with a tour of Westminster Abbey, the site of some key moments in English history and where many historical figures are buried. Next, take some pictures with nearby Big Ben, and then see what is going on at Parliament. In the afternoon, visit the impressive Imperial War Museum, and then top off the night with a ride on the London Eye for some stunning views of England’s most famous city. Day 4: Start your last day of sightseeing at Buckingham Palace where if you time it right, you can watch the changing of the guard. Next go to famous Trafalgar Square where you are greeted by iconic buildings and Nelson’s Column. Then step into the National Gallery at one end of the square for a quick look at its magnificent art collection. In the afternoon, spend a few hours in the famous British Museum. You won't be able to see it all, but do check out the Egyptian and Assyrian exhibits, including the Rosetta Stone, as well as the Elgin Marbles before you return to your hotel and end your lovely London excursion. Day 5: Return home. |
